Rhys Prichard
Rhys Prichard is a British director based in London, with a passion for intimate, character-driven storytelling. He graduated from The Falmouth School of Film & Television in 2019 and has since worked independently to craft narrative short films. His first film By Hand was nominated for the best film award at the BFI Future Film Festival in 2023 and then in 2024, he was selected again at the festival for his second short film Cariad Brawdol which was nominated for the Best Director Award. His work has screened at multiple domestic and international festivals, including BAFTA qualifier Aesthetica and winning the Narrative short prize at Focus Wales as well as being distributed by Into Film and The British Short Film Awards.
His work often examines familial love, capturing fleeting and often unnoticed moments with a focus on the familiar over the fantastic. Striving to tell stories that are filled with empathy and leave the audience with a lingering emotional response.
